Scottish LGBTQ+ Tournament
Wow, what a thrill to be part of the first-ever Scottish LGBTQ+ Tournament at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility on May 24th! We’re beyond grateful for the invite to this epic day of sport, community, and pure joy.
Huge shout out to our great friends Janis and Debbie, who, with their stellar helpers, pulled off a debut event that was an absolute smash. From the moment we arrived, the place buzzing with energy—think glitter, sweat, and smiles everywhere! This tournament was all about community, and boy, did it deliver. Setting up our stringing service for this vibrant crowd was a blast, and we loved chatting with new friends from every corner of UK and some from Europe.
Plot twist of the day? Yours truly got roped into competing at the last minute! Let’s just say my legs, arms, and back were not ready for the action, but jumping onto the court was a total hoot. What a way to soak up the tournament’s fierce yet fun vibe! It gave me a chance to get my overly snug shoes back on court properly for the first time in nearly a year!
Over 90 players brought their A-game across the day, with semis and finals taking place on the Sunday, which featured quirky team games keeping the energy sky-high alongside the finals. The weekend wrapped with an after-party that had everyone dancing, laughing, and toasting an unforgettable time.
