West Coast Competitions brings together a series of graded badminton tournaments along the beautiful West Coast of Scotland, designed to be competitive, enjoyable, and community-driven. Our aim is to create events where players of all levels can compete seriously, connect socially, and celebrate the sport together.

With events supported by Ironside Racket Services, offering on-site stringing, equipment, and expert advice, ensuring you’re always match-ready.

from Kilmarnock Station > Grange academy (Distance 0.9mile)

By Bus:

  • From Buchanan Bus Station (Glasgow), take the Stagecoach X76 service to Kilmarnock (approx. 40 minutes).

  • From Kilmarnock Bus Station, take the Stagecoach Ardrossan Service No. 11 towards Fullarton Street and get off at the 3rd stop (approx. 4 minutes).

  • From there, it’s a 0.7-mile walk (around 7 minutes) to Grange Academy.

Alternatively:
You can walk directly from Kilmarnock Bus Station to Grange Academy — it’s about 1.3 miles and takes approximately 22 minutes.

Glasgow > Oban

By Train 

Glasgow Queen Street - Oban (Approx - 3hrs 15 mins)

Oban train station to Atlantis Leisure Centre (Distance 0.8mile Approx 10 mins walk / 5mins drive)

**For train travel from Edinburgh take Edinburgh (Waverly) or Haymarket to Glasgow Queen Street (approx 50 mins Edi- Gla)

 

By Bus:

  • From Buchanan Bus Station (Glasgow), take the CityLink service 976 to Oban (approx. 3hrs 3 minutes).

  • From the bus stop Atlantis Leisure Centre is a 0.8mile walk Approx 10 mins

 

Glasgow > Barra

By Ferry

You can take a ferry to Barra from Oban. Take the Caledonian MacBrayne service from Oban to Castlebay (Barra).
